Brown County Jail Eucharistic Ministers Needed

A need for Eucharistic Ministers at the Brown County Jail now exists. Security training is provided and is a requirement before beginning this vital ministry. For more information or to volunteer, contact Chaplain Karen Helgerson at 391-6827.


Inmate Affirms Call to Jail Ministry

Karen Helgerson photoKaren Helgerson answered her call and found herself in the Brown County Jail as the new chaplain.

"I find a deep hunger for Bible study and church service in the people I encounter," she said. "There are a lot of people with feelings of isolation, with an emptiness in their hearts and soul seeking to be in relationship with God.

"I find them grateful for anything that is done for them," she said. Read full article
