Everyday Evangelizing
Let Our Light Shine image All of us are called to evangelize and this can be done is simple ways in our everyday lives. A suggestion for this week:

Both St. Peter in the First Reading and Jesus in today's Gospel remind us to repent. Repentance involves sorrow, penance, and the avoidance of sin. Try to form the habit of praying an Act of Contrition on a daily basis. Penance can also be doing acts of charity for others.

The New Rosary
On the day marking the beginning of the 25th year of his pontificate, Pope John Paul II issued an historic Apostolic Letter on the Rosary. To make the centuries-old Catholic prayer more fully "a compendium of the Gospel," the Pope has added five additional mysteries, called "mysteries of light." More!

What's New at St. Agnes Parish

First Communion Reminder
First Communion this year is taking place at one of our scheduled Sunday Masses - May 4 at the 11:00am Mass. The first four sections will need to be reserved for the First Communicants and their families. If you make the 11:00am your usual Mass to attend, you may want to attend the 8:00 or 9:30 Mass.

Community of Christian Women Salad Potluck Supper
For an evening of great food and Christian fellowship, come join us in the Social Hall this Monday, May 5 at 6:00pm. Entertainment by the St. Norbert Music Department will follow our meal and business meeting. Just bring a salad to share and your own place setting. Anyone is welcome to attend.

The Message of Easter - Third Sunday of Easter
Jesus alive! He is risen! Alleluia! Readings for the Third Sunday of Easter ask probing questions. Often we are "broke" when people ask for help, money or time, or sympathy from us. Peter gave what he had. What do we give to those who reach out to us? Faith alone will save us. But how do people recognize us as people of faith? Call to mind a time when God moved powerfully in your life, even if you did not recognize it at the time.

Mother's Day - Carnation Sale
On Mother's Day weekend, May 10-11, the Boy Scouts will once again be selling carnations at all the Masses. Assorted colors are still only $1.00 each.

Keep in Prayer
Please remember in your prayers the fifteen people who journey in faith with us as 'neophytes'. These adults and children joined our community through Baptism, Confirmation and Reception into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Pray that they will grow strong and confident in their faith and that our faith will grow stronger because of their witness.

The beautiful flowers and plants that decorate our Church during the Easter Season are here because of the love and generosity of many people and donations in their names or names of loved ones. Thank You!

Hospital Visitation - Please Read this Carefully!
Beginning April 4, 2003, there is a new federal law that prohibits hospitals from informing churches of your presence unless YOU give permission for the hospital to do so. If you are going to the hospital, and would like a visit, please let the hospital know EACH TIME you check into the hospital. The hospitals have written us and added, "Patients, at times, ask us to notify their clergy of their admissions, but at the same time, choose to restrict their name from the hospital directory at the Information Desk in order to maintain privacy. As a result of this request, the patient's name will not appear in the directory or on the clergy list." Be careful what you indicate! Call the parish office at 920 494-2534 with any questions.

American Red Cross - St. Agnes Donors Drive
Visit the American Red Cross site Following in the footsteps of Franklin Roosevelt 60 years ago, President George W. Bush is also serving as Amerian Red Cross honorary chairman and is honoring the organization by proclaiming March 2003 as National Red Cross Month. During this month why not make a blood donation to help someone in need? There is a constant need for whole blood, plasma and platelets. Blood is Life! The St. Agnes Donors Club had 129 donations in 2002. Many thanks! Congratulations to Clayton Maloney on reaching the 26 gallon level. Call 920 468-5949 for an appointment or for more information. When donating, please sign in with the St. Agnes Donors Club - Thank You!

Ordinary Time image Want to Make Someone's Day??
Making someone's day happens each weekend in our parish when the Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound bring the Body of Christ to our fellow parishioners who are homebound. In this ministry volunteers bring the GOOD NEWS of JESUS and in the process encourage those who suffer any ailment or discouragement. Interested in making somebody's day? Contact Dave Daniels, Ministry Coordinator.
